The Whanganui Region Catchment Collective brings people together to protect and enhance the land, water, and biodiversity of our region. As a farmer-led initiative, Whanganui Region Catchment Collective supports collaboration between landowners, hapū, schools, agencies, and rural communities through locally driven catchment groups.
We work alongside partners like local schools,, iwi and hapū, Horizons Regional Council, NZ Landcare Trust, Rural Support Trust, Beef + Lamb New Zealand and other industry and community organisations. Together, we share knowledge, pool resources, and support practical, community-led action across the catchment.
By creating space for shared learning and joint problem-solving, Whanganui Region Catchment Collective enables projects like native planting, predator control, water monitoring, erosion control, and environmental education. Our work is grounded in recognising the deep interconnection between people and the land.
Through collaboration, we’re building resilient communities, thriving farms, and a healthier future for our waterways.
